The World Series of Poker in Las Vegas is undoubtedly the biggest poker event of the year. It is made of 50/60 poker tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $1,000 to $50,000. To get into the action you need to follow these steps:

1. Get a Harrah’s Players Club Card and bring your Photo ID with you. You can’t participate into any WSOP tournaments without these. You can get the players club card at any Harrah’s property or at a special desk close to the WSOP competition zone.

2. You need either prompt cash or a WSOP buy-in chip to enter a tournament. Haven’t you got enough cash with you? No problem. You can wire the money to the Rio Hotel, or deposit traveller’s checks or even use one of the many ATM machines around for the smaller tournaments. You may also find people offering for sale buy-in chips in line to enter a tournament. This is a typical practice at the WSOP because players may have more buy-in chips than they require for having won a satellite or two in which these chips are given. It’s natural that if somebody offers you a chip, you’ll try to get it a bit cheaper than its actual price.

3. Find the registration area. This is not always the same as Harrah’s use to move this from year to year to optimize logistics, but it is generally close to the primary WSOP competition zone – the Amazon dance hall.

4. Register. Prepare the exact amount of money, tell the teller which tournament you would like to play and put forth the money, your Harrah’s Players Club Card and your ID. Once your data is checked, you will be provided with a Seat Card, which includes the details of your table and your seat. Don’t worry about finding the right place to play, as usually table numbers hang clearly lighted over the tables.

5. It’s now time to sit down. Give your Seat Card and ID to the dealer who will confirm you are in the correct spot. That’s it, you will suddenly feel all the thrill and excitement for being part of something big. Keep calm, don’t waste your maybe lifetime opportunity to win the precious bracelet and a big loot.
